Pesto Puff Pastry Trees: A Festive Holiday Treat

Ingredients:
• 1 roll puff pastry
• 3-4 tbsp basil pesto
• 1/4 cup Nafsika’s Garden shredded mozzarella style cheese
• 2 slices Nafsika’s Garden sliced Mozzarella cheese
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). If using skewers for extra stability, soak them in
water before baking to prevent burning. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
and set aside.
2. Roll out the puff pastry on a clean surface. Spread an even layer of basil pesto
over the entire pastry sheet. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the
pesto.
3. Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, slice the puff pastry into 1-inch strips.
4. Fold each strip to create a tree shape. Carefully skewer each tree to hold the
shape, though this step is optional if you prefer the trees without skewers.
5. Arrange the skewered puff pastry trees on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for
15-20 minutes or until the trees are puffed up and golden brown.
6. While the puff pastry is baking, use a small star-shaped cookie cutter to cut stars
from the mozzarella slices for tree toppers.
7. Once the pastry trees are baked, remove them from the oven and let them cool
for 5-8 minutes.
8. Place the trees on a serving dish, and carefully position a cheese star on top of
each tree, using the top of the skewer to hold it in place if skewers were used.
