Ingredients:

- 15 oz block tofu, extra firm

- 1 cup breadcrumbs

- 1 tsp salt

- 1 tsp garlic powder

- 1 tsp pepper

- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

- 1/2 cup plant-based milk

- Neutral oil, for shallow frying

- 1 cup marinara sauce

- 2 slices Nafsika’s Garden Provolone sliced cheese style

- 1/4 cup grated Nafsika’s Garden Parmesan style, block

Instructions:

  1. Drain and press the tofu to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 6 even pieces and set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and plant-based milk until smooth.
  3. In a shallow bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until evenly mixed.
  4. Dip each tofu slice into the flour mixture, ensuring both sides are well-coated, then dredge the tofu in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to ensure the crumbs stick. Repeat with the remaining tofu pieces.
  5. Heat a large skillet with about 1/2 inch of neutral oil over medium-low heat. Once the oil is hot and sizzling, carefully add the breaded tofu slices to the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden and crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
